Taylor Moyer (Director)

Picture
Taylor Moyer is proud to be directing the 2013 summer musical Oklahoma!  Moyer got his start in theatre performing onstage with the Napoleon High School Drama Department and playing percussion in orchestras for area shows.  His first drama director was Ken Neuenschwander, so its nice to see everything come full circle.  In 2007, Taylor had the opportunity to sit in on drums for a rehearsal performance of “If you’ve Got it Flaunt it” in New York City for the hit Broadway show The Producers.  Since 2007, Moyer has choreographed several dance routines for shows including Napoleon Drama's High School Musical, Godspell, Music Man, the King and I, and Maumee Valley Civic Theatre's Little Shop of Horrors. Moyer’s directing career includes area musicals such as St. Paul Lutheran's Seussical The Musical and he currently serves as the Director of Theatre at Napoleon High School, where he has directed The Wizard of Oz , Beauty and the Beast and has assisted the students with directing their own Fall Show Comedy One Acts.  Moyer also is a playwright, producing his own historical dramas through an area organization, 1801 Productions, named after his first original work, 1801.  Other original works include The VanDalia, The Outlaws of Promontory and his most current, a new musical, A House Divided, which serves as a tribute to the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.  After moderate success in summer 2012, A House Divided will travel to Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio for performances on the 14 and 15 of December. Moyer is excited to work with Maumee Valley Civic Theatre and  to be teaming up with his partner in crime, Kim Dietrich. Moyer hopes to meet new people who share the same interest in theatre and see former Maumee Valley participants return, as well as hopefully gain new participants at the same time.
